Firefighters responded to a significant scrubland fire in Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, after a large blaze broke out at Alver Valley Country Park, prompting a major emergency response from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. According to the fire service, emergency crews from Gosport, Fareham, Waterlooville, and Havant were dispatched to the scene at around 6:00 p.m. after the control room received more than 20 emergency calls reporting the blaze. Firefighters used Land Rovers, hose jets, beaters, and knapsack pumps to tackle the fire, which spread across an area measuring approximately 500 metres by 300 metres. Their efforts successfully contained the blaze and prevented it from reaching nearby residential properties.
